Welcome to Faringdon, a historic market town in the Vale of the White Horse.
Faringdon is an ideal place to visit for a holiday, short break or day out. Faringdon is a town of delightful, eccentric features courtesy of the late Lord Berners: visit Folly Hill and the Folly Tower, spot the pink pigeons and enjoy a rest on the diver seat. The town is perched on a ridge between two river valleys offering panoramic views of the surrounding area. White Horse Hill, the River Thames and several National Trust properties are also close by and Faringdon offers a perfect place to refresh and unwind.
Our friendly Museum and Information Centre staff are available to help visitors plan their visit and support residents/businesses with any queries. Normal opening hours are Monday – Friday – 9.00am to 4.00pm, Saturday – 9.30am – 1.00pm. Please also see our Things to do page.
Our mission is to provide a representative voice for the community and offer practical support to maintain the sustainable economic and social wellbeing of the town.
